The Stockley family has lived and worked in Colorado for generations. From them I’ve learned that our agricultural traditions offer insights for the future as well as a source of pride in the past. Those who came to northern Colorado more than a century ago to farm, like those who had been here for centuries, learned that you have to work with the land to make it grow.

Land use decisions form what our communities will look like for years to come. Decisions on transportation, zoning changes, open space, natural resource extractions, and others are important to protect our natural environment.
Transportation dollars are harder to come by these days, and with such limited resources, we need to look towards the future and options for other modes of transportation. Bus service expansions, as well as future transit systems, should be an important part of future transportation funding.
Anyone who lives in northern Colorado appreciates why our agricultural heritage must be protected. Family farms are struggling, whether they're small scale individual farms, or larger family owned enterprises. Local foods work for all Coloradoans, and I believe in supporting local enterprise. Colorado’s cities need food, and growing our food locally puts better, safer food on the table while keeping our folks working in the fields, and in the small businesses that supply them. Our local farms are an important component to keeping jobs local and adding to the tax base.
I will always support farm-friendly policies.
We love our open spaces in northern Colorado. Current pressures to extract valuable natural resources from these lands will be a growing issue in the coming years. Whether it be water, oil and gas, or timber, I will always look first to protecting the health and well-being of my neighbors, while doing what I can to keep Larimer County a business-friendly environment.
The tourism industry is another important piece of what makes Colorado so special. We are fortunate to have such beautiful places in northern Colorado, many just minutes from our homes. I want to ensure that we protect these special places, as this billion dollar industry supports not only many local businesses, but also their families and the Colorado way of life.
