I grew up in Colorado. My parents taught me to work hard and set lofty goals. They taught me to love the sense of adventure and the opportunities that are unique to Colorado. I'm running to represent the people of House District 49 because I love this state. The people in this district deserve a representative who knows who they are and how to work as hard as they do.

I live in Berthoud with four of my five children and my husband Jay. Jay's an engineer and Naval Reservist and I'm a small business owner, but my family is the reason I first became active in my community as a school volunteer. I've served my family, and my community on the Berthoud Planning and Zoning Board. Now I serve on the Thompson R2J School Board.

Over the years I've listened to my friends and neighbors, and I’ve learned that the big problems we face together can usually be solved right here in our small communities. I believe that our representatives should be listening and taking these local ideas to Denver. I know that opportunity is still alive in Northern Colorado, and I believe that together, we can build the Colorado our families dream of, work for, and deserve.
